a local church with an international flavour

About Us

GaryReverend Gary Mayer is the founder and pastor of Morning Star Christian Fellowship. In his twenty-one years with an international company, he was sent from his home country, the United States, to London and then to Paris. It was in 1990 in Paris that he received his call to return to England and train for ministry. Pastor Gary completed Bible College in 1992 and was ordained in Texas, USA, in 1994. The Mayers and a few families began meeting as a church in December 1993 in homes. The move to Sunningdale Park came in 1995.
In 1998 the church linked with Dr. Don Crum, founder and president of Leadership International/Africa Missions. In the early years we hosted open meetings for our area having an emphasis on unity and revival of the local body of Christ. In 2000 the connection with LI was formalized and the church came under the apostolic headship of Dr. Crum.

CrumsDon Crum has served in the ministry since 1971. At the age of 17 he became Dallas’s youngest hospital chaplain. Don was a church pastor in the US for eleven years until he and his family were called to Nigeria in 1988. Serving for seven years in some of the most primitive and dangerous jungles in Africa, Don, his wife Cheri and children Ben and Julie established churches and a jungle hospital among unreached tribes. Returning to Texas in 1995, Don began to travel to the nations developing and supporting Christian leaders and ministers around the world. Pastor Gary and Don have ministered together in Russia, Ukraine, Hungary and Mexico. More recently the Lord has opened up opportunities for Don to speak into lives of leaders in business and government as well as the church.

Morning Star Christian Fellowship embraces the Evangelical Alliance Basis of Faith:
• We accept the revelation of the triune God given in the Scripture of the Old and New Testaments and confess the historic faith of the Gospel therein set forth.
• We assert the following doctrines which we regard as crucial to the understanding of the faith and which should issue in mutual love and practical Christian service and evangelistic concern.
• The sovereignty and grace of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit in creation, providence, revelation, redemption and final judgement.
• The divine inspiration of the Holy Scripture and its consequent entire trustworthiness and supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
• The universal sinfulness and guilt of fallen man, making him subject to God’s wrath and condemnation.
• The substitutionary sacrifice of the Incarnate Son of God as the sole sufficient ground of redemption from the guilt and power of sin and from its eternal consequences.
• The justification of the sinner solely by the grace of God through faith in Christ crucified and risen from the dead.
• The illuminating, regenerating, indwelling and sanctifying work of God the Holy Spirit.
• The priesthood of all believers, who form the universal church, the Body of Christ who is the Head and which is committed by His command to the proclamation of the Gospel throughout the world.
• The expectation of the personal, visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ in Power and glory.

Treasured Values That Particularly Characterize Morning Star:

Word and Spirit
We seek balance and unity between the Word of God in our teaching and the presence of the Holy Spirit in our midst…pursuing the fullness of both as we live out our faith together.

Balance
The Apostle Paul says that the church should be “healthy, growing and full of love.” TLB. One of the ways we aim to achieve this is by seeking balance in all our actions. We embrace five activities from Acts 2 and strive to keep them in balance in the life of our church. They are represented by the acronym W.LIFE: worship, learning, intercession, fellowship and evangelism.

Service
Again in Ephesians Paul states that the church grows and matures when “the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share…” The expectance in our church is that each one finds his or her place  and serves in some capacity.

Unity
In addition to unity within our own church we value and seek to play a leading part in promoting unity among local churches and leaders. We believe this is close to God’s heart and a key to revival in this nation.

Families
Our church culture strongly supports family life. Pastor Gary has recently completed a long series of messages on the family. Our children’s ministry reflects this foundational value.

Israel
We strongly believe the heart of God is passionate for the restoration of the Jewish people and the nation of Israel in this hour. We, as a primarily Gentile church, make this stand by our support for Morning Star Fellowship in Tiberias, Israel, as well as our commitment of love, finances, practical support and teaching. We maintain links with organizations who support Jewish believers, and we hope to promote and encourage travel opportunities to Israel.
