What is the Kingdom of God?

Who ever thought I would begin to blog? But after some encouragement
from others and technical help from my son John, here I am!

I graduated in engineering at university – a course in math, science,
problem solving and (this is important) avoiding reading, writing, and
public speaking. God has a sense of humour, huh? Now all I do is
read, write, and speak publicly. Unlike my wife and children I am not
a very good writer. If you read this regularly you will have to
overlook some of those inabilities. I won’t let that stop me putting
my thoughts down on “paper” and hopefully this blog may be a way to
pass on some of what God has put into me over the past 40 years now.

I should not be surprised that my first blog is about Psalm 100. When
I first left the business world at God’s command the Lord began to
raise up men and women to give me prophetic words. Those words were
so necessary in the early days. The one that came most from Him to me
was Psalm 100. He knew I would need it. Over and over someone
brought me this word.

The primary message to me was in verse 2: “Serve the Lord with
gladness…” I made life so hard for myself in those days. I carried
all the weight on my own shoulders and it can drag you down. Know
what I mean?

In my daily bible reading today was guess what? Psalm 100. It only
comes around once a year, and here it is today staring me in the face
once again. I can see how much God has changed me over the years. I
can now safely say that most of the time I serve Him with gladness.
Serving the Lord with gladness, in all circumstances, bring Him such
pleasure. After all, it is all about Him, not about me!

Read Oswald Chambers for January 18. “How many of us are expecting
Jesus Christ to quench our thirst when we should be satisfying
Him! … The goal of the call of God is His satisfaction, not simply
that we should do something for Him.” Wow. Amazing words.

Want something else amazing? Something to chew on today? If I asked
you “What is the Kingdom of God,” what would you say? Have a look at
Romans 14:17. “for the Kingdom of God is not food and drink, but
righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.” That will kill
some religious demons. That will lift some burdens off your back.
That will enable you to relax a bit and let His joy flow in and
through you. That will let faith rise in you. Let is soak in to you
today. Peace and joy in the Kings kids brings Him such pleasure
because it reflects on His fathering.
