Battle For The Family

Comments Off

To continue the theme of my previous blog I want to publish a “guest blog” on the church website.  This was written by Pepita Gbadebo in the Summer addition of the Lydia Fellowship Newsletter.  Obviously many are calling the church to intercede and do spiritual warfare for the family in Britain.  Here is the article:

The Battle Ahead

As Watchmen we have watched and we have seen and we have reported on how the enemy is eroding our Christian heritage — its values, morals, families and homes.  We even read it in the headlines: ‘Broken Britain’. We have watched the flood of iniquity grow upon our land sweeping everything in its path like the great earthquake and tsunami in Japan — homes torn apart, debris, death, destruction, seemingly no mercy!  We have watched whilst our children, grandchildren and spouses are swept away from under our feet, left trembling by such an opposing force. Have we forgotten the God we serve and pray to — the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob;  the God of faithfulness, the God of the impossible, Almighty God,  the Commander, the God of War?

Satan has not changed.  He has no mercy.  He is out to kill you and your seed! (Genesis 3:15)  He is the Father of Lies and all deception.  He only comes to steal, kill and destroy. He is out to destroy God’s seed and we are seeing them being snatched away one by one, stolen from God’s best.  Stolen from fulfilling God’s purposes for their lives.  Stolen from the victory over Satan that is theirs through Jesus Christ!

David returned from battle only to find that the Amalekites had raided his entire household.  What was his response? (1 Samuel 30:4)

He wept – until there was no strength to weep.
He strengthened himself in the Lord.
He inquired of the Lord.
He slaughtered the enemy!

David not only brought his family back out of enemy territory but returned with spoil!  He recovered all that the Amalekites had taken and not one of them was missing.  Hallelujah!  Isn’t He able to do exceedingly above anything we could EVER think or imagine?
It is time to ACT.

Some of David’s men, however, were unable to go to battle for they were exhausted.  These had been left at the brook yet still shared and partook of the blessing.
It is the Lord who delivers into our hand those that come against us. It is in Christ that we have the victory! Ladies, we are to assemble for battle. If God is for us, who can be against us?
