We recently finished exploring the story of Pilgrim’s Progress and learning about the importance of obeying God’s word, guarding our hearts, and persevering with an eternal perspective. At the moment, we are going through a discipleship course called Redefining Normal.
Many of us have believed a half-gospel that says Christianity is all about what we don’t do. The truth is there is much more to following God. God wants us to both celebrate the grace of God and to continue to grown in holiness. As we learn to live under the moral boundaries that God sets up for us, we also learn to focus on the postures of faith hope, and love on which God wants us to center our lives. Through it all, we see God redeeming the world he loves and doing it through us.
During the week we dig into mini-lessons from the book that are fun and thought provoking. When the group meets together on a Sunday we mix together all of our questions, ideas, testimonies and needs. The goal is that we all challenge and support each other to keep on growing.
The teens are also hoping to get active serving. For example, on Easter we brought and shared out yummy treats before the service. Some of the group are planning to take part in Noise, a weekend of fellowship and community service projects as part Hope 08.
Blessings,
Lydia & Chrissie
