Each time the teen group meets we select one Bible story to study in depth.  We read the story word for word and then the fun begins as we incorporate acting/brainstorming/discussing/role play and various other activities to bring the story to life, apply the story to our individual lives, and know God better.  Our prayer is that each session there is something that everyone can take away, no matter what age, gender or how long we have been a Christian.  We also pray that God will reveal a ‘rhema’ word for the season or experience our teens are currently going through.  God has been doing exciting things in these times are we are all learning a lot and learning to love God’s word!  We especially encourage the teens (sometimes with prizes) to memorise and meditate on scripture.

Also, inspired by our church’s  mission statement of the word and Spirit coming together, we make it a priority to welcome the Holy Spirit to come and meet with us!  That’s  why a portion of our time together on a Sunday morning is set aside for us just to be in the Lord’s  presence. The format and focus of these times varies quite a bit and include things like sharing communion together, guests from big church coming and telling testimonies, prayer for spiritual gifts, prayer for one another, and one-on-one time with God. It has been awesome seeing how as we draw near to Him He really does draws near to us and we can EXPERIENCE (and not just know) the kingdom of God and His goodness in our daily life!
